SCU After Dark is a showcase of original music by young up and coming artists who are studying a Bachelor of Contemporary Music. This show will have:
Ash Van Lits is one of our first year Bachelor students who love’s playing 2000’s pop music and her original songs like her recently released single ‘Make My Day’, where she blends her love for Jazz and pop together creating her signature style.
TAYSTE who rocks out with her multi genre style, that she has been working on over the years as a student in the Bachelor of Contemporary Music specialising in vocals.
My Daydreams are Kisna and Ashanti: a Brisbane-based twin duo who express their experiences through music. They derive inspiration from their eclectic music palette, spanning from Dream Pop to Nu Metal. As a result of this, their songs are a musical fusion that they describe to be ‘confessional alternative’. With a passion to encourage individuality, they have both written and produced their own music since the age of 15. Creating music was something they never intended to do but as they grew older, it became something they needed. As they began writing, words became lines, lines became poems and those poems became songs. They emerged in a time when they needed an outlet for their struggles and continue to exist for that exact reason. The My Daydreams live experience is completed by the addition of their talented live drummer Thomas Haselam. They joined Bad Neighbour on their tour, playing on lineups with Mikaela from Yours Truly and EGOISM. Additionally, they were the cover of Indiefferential Magazine (2024). Their debut EP MALADAPTIVE was co-produced by themselves alongside 3x ARIA award winning producer Cody McWaters and Emily Hopley and will be releasing August 29th.
And lastly making his debut performance at After Dark, Lachlan S is in his third and final year of studying the Bachelor of Contemporary Music. Majoring in songwriting and composition, he has been writing and recording non-stop since starting his degree, pulling from styles including rock, funk, pop and many others. Lachlan S is ready to showcase his work on stage for the first time ever and bring the house down
